Ever sold to one? I'm a bit worried... This bidder has the high bid on one of my items. I did a little research on their past bids and it is very clear that they are into some strange and scary stuff.

So what are you selling? How does it fit into the "strange & scary stuff" your bidder has gotten in the past?

I must admit that I have never researched what my buyers have gotten in the past.

I too have been very apprehensive when selling to users with grossly offensive and hateful userids, but I still take their money. I don't see the harm in selling to them. But I would never under any circumstances buy from such a person.

LOL! I don't think it's "politcally correct" to call them Satan worshipers.

Call them Friends of Bob.

Um, what the hell is your problem?!
THIS IS AMERICA!
you know, "freedom of religion" - its not like everyone on eBay or in the world is a freaking god-fearing bible-thumper.
I am not a Christian, a Jew, a Buddhist, etc, nor am I a Satanist, and really I dont give a $#!+ who I sell too.
Get a life!

This reminds of a email "Pen pal" I had who was a candlemaker.

A S&M "colony" (lack of better term) had moved in down the road from her. At first she was a little worried about them as neighbors, but soon she couldn't keep up the demand for black candles, so she was very happy.

never hurts to get a PO box if you don't already have one...

BTW I love looking at what my buyers purchase! How else are you supposed to understand what people are looking for?

Or the money could be cursed. Sprinkle some holy water on the cashier's check before you bring it to the bank.

Well I've never received a payment stuffed in a dead rats mouth with a black candle sticking in it's butt, so I guess not.

So long as their money is green, does it really matter to you what color magic they follow is?

What do you mean, Satan Worshipers?

Do you mean Pagans? Wiccans? Or real Satanists? There are big differences.

Are they frightening because they believe something different than mainstream America?

You just never know who you are gonna entice to buy when you offer pentagrams, goats heads, black candles and such....maybe time to chuck out the remainder of your inventory...I'll catch!

I thought it was "Friends of Fred"

I once got a buyer who called himself "Phil Anderer." He sent me cash from a Canadian address, but had me ship it to a NYC address. I felt kind of bad sending that poor little skirt to this guy that kind of gave me the creeps, but, as you say, green is green....

Never sold to one I knew about.

When I was new to eBay, one of the best things were some of the beautiful tarot decks I could find. I purchased a bunch to add to my collection.

About a month later, it seemed that the tarot decks were getting mediocre, so I searched for a couple of sellers that I'd purchased from in the past. One was selling Nazi memoribilia. I kind of freaked. I felt like I should go bury the tarot deck I'd purchased from her in the back yard or something. I got over it, but some folks do give you the willies.

I think it's fascinating to see what other things your buyer bids on. I listed a black angora dress once and really didn't think much of it. For lack of descriptive words, I called it a furry black angora dress. After a few days, bids were almost up to $100 (paid 5 bucks for it). So I checked the highest bidder's history and found a very interesting person whose closet must be a sight to see. She bid on everything she could find that was furry, clothes, shoes, purses, hats, you name it. Even a gorilla suit!!

I know this doesn't have a lot to do with this thread but it was droning on a bit, so I thought I would lighten things up a little.

Hello to all..! I am a brand new AuctionWatch member and am just learning the ropes. I was reading the topics on the message center - after reading the string on "Satan Worshippers" -- MAH645... You made my day when I laughed out loud while reading your response. Knowing that almost everyone is extremely helpful and can keep a sense of humor while conducting business (especially during these political times) is what makes this such a great place to sell our "stuff"!! Thanks to all..!!

I used to sell new childrens clothes I bought from a wholesaler. I made really good friends with this guy who was adopting two Korean orphans. He kept me in business for quite some time. He emailed me once and asked me to pull up bid history and look at an outfit he found. I pulled it up and he was bidding the absolute most disgusting porn I have ever seen, and I haven't see much of it. I guess this was in the porno cat. days when you could have multiple photos, I had no idea you could do that with chopsticks......Heather

He was such a nice guy I could hardly believe it I just did not think about him the same after that.

I certainly hope you reported him to the police authorities wherever he lived. Did you?

Well, I will tell you this, I think porno is morally wrong, but I know people who buy it and watch it who are normal in every other respect and would never think of doing something to a child. I think that is a hugely prejudiced to assume that someone who enjoys porn is automatically a molestor. I did struggle with it for a few weeks, but in the end did nothing. What was I supposed to do? Call the police and tell them that someone who was adopting two childre was buying porn on the internet? It was not child porn or even remotely close. I do know that he and his wife had to take all kinds of psychological test in order to qualify so that should have shown something if there was a problem.

Then that's different - you mentioned childrens' clothing, adoption of Asian children and porn all in one paragraph and along with the general subject matter of this thread,it appeared to me you were talking about child pornography.
