I'm not sure if anyone has posted anything about this, so here goes...

I got a letter today from [email protected] (at least that is what it said...)

Here's the text of the letter

Below is the result of your feedback form. It was submitted by

I assumed it was a fraud, as the return path was not paypal, but decided to call paypal anyway, as I keep a 5 digit balance in paypal, and didn't want to see it get locked.

Paypal said it was someone who had set up a website that looked like paypal to get passwords and accounts. If you get this letter delete it.

Thanks,

I just followed the link, and it certainly looked like Paypal, but is something called gameroom.com.

You could have fun entering bogus email addresses and passwords.

I just followed the link also - amazing!

Did PayPal say that they were pursuing any type of action against this site?

PayPal *always* pursues criminal action in cases like this.

I just followed the link, and the page has already been removed. It was hosted by a freebie web hosting service.

Yes, there was a little script in the source code, using another free site, and it sent the email addys and passwords to an aol account - something like [email protected]. Very tricky, and not very hard to do ...
