Ok, first things first.

Yes I changed my name in order to protect the innocent. Since I started posting my opinions on this board I decided it my be best to keep my ebay name unknown.

Now, something to think about. Ebay, or Meg, has been showing up on TV talking about AFA. AFA has been getting a lot of publicity and is surely bringing in more people that have probably never been to Ebay before. However, AFA auction numbers are going down. Is it possible that AFA could be good for non AFA sales? I know it was mentioned before, but I am now seeing a possibility of this myself.

For those of you who are wondering, yes I supported AFA and did donate some items for sale there. No, I will not continue donating to AFA because I feel that I can do as much on my own without it costing me as much by letting the customer pay for shipping.

Edited because even with the new name I still can't spell.

couple of things to add...

I already donated as much cash as I can afford to at the moment. I do, OTOH, have some inventory that is left-over from last year and wasn't selling very well this year but it is getting snapped up in AfA auctions. These are things that cost a size 000 bubble mailer and a $.57 stamp to ship.

I have decreased my listings on ebay right now to about 1/10th of what I had this time last month. I've heard some people saying that their AfA bidders have bid on their regular auctions, but have not noticed this myself. Of course, this could be because I'm only listing 1/10th of my normal listings. Who knows.
