Can anyone help me??
I'm trying to get the little picture to show up before my auction title when someone does a search for a certain item. (you know the little one inch by one inch pic)
I use Auctionwatch.com to list all of my auctions and I know that if you go through the whole stuff to list through ebaY, they automatcally post that pic for you.....
does anyone have any advice!!!!!
Please help!!!!!

Well, I thought you were looking for the pic in the search..the list when someone for instance, puts in "Snoopy" and sees a list of all the "Snoopy stuff for sale on ebay. Then I read the second letter and now I'm not sure which pic you want. If you want the pic that shows up during a search, you have to pay .25 to eBay for the gallery shot. If you want the pic that shows up once someone goes to your selling page, and your item comes up, then you have to use eBay's free first picture. That will put a small pic to the left in your actual auction.

If you host your own pictures, you need to put your picture information where it says: "Enter the web site of your hosted pic." I'm not sure how you do it if you use one of the picture services.

I don't believe this would work for either of the two small pics she may be talking about. I host my own pic's, but I still either have to pay .25 for gallery, or use eBay's free Ipix picture for the little pic up in the left corner of my pages. The only place my own hosted pics will show up are in the description, or as a regular picture, or in the gallery (but only after paying that quarter)...in which case you can use Ipix or your own hosted.

hehehe here we go agian... there have been several threads about this with some misinformation being spread.........heres the facts from my experience
i use AW to list and pic host, the pics will show up in the search like you want if you pay the 25 cents for a gallery pic.....i do not care what anyone else may say to debunk this, as others have in the past, because it is 100% fact...i do it all the time and NEVER list directly thru ebays site

Is someone debunking this? I think the only confusion is which pic she is talking about, since she mentioned eBay automatically posting a pic, and the only one they "automatically" post is the one in your actual auction, if you use their Ipix. I don't think anyone thinks she can get the gallery pic without paying the .25..but if she is talking about the picture in the upper left hand corner of her actual auction..that is a perk of using Ipix, eBays picture program, and I have yet to see a way to use that without using eBay to list. Do you know of a way? Not the search pic you pat the gallery fee for, but the one in your auction.

if you read the question correctly you will see there is no confusion about what pic the poster is asking about, she clearly states the one next to her auction when a SEARCH is done. it says nothing about when her item page is displayed. any confusion is on you not the poster or the question.
as for your debunking question i suggest your read the previous threads i speak of. if you were a regular reader of this board you would remember it, or should. i answered the question based on my experiences with AW, ebay and the pic in question....

i'd thought you had to use at least one photo with ipix in order to get the little photo in search, and at the top left of the listing. in the category i search, an awful lot of low-ticket items show the search photo. i suppose all these sellers could have sprung the extra $.25 for gallery, but usually those are only high-ticket, so i assumed it was from using ipix, and they all had that in common. anyone know for sure if you'll get the little photos or not if you only use ipix?
i search by going to the category and using the search box there, with the 'search only in ...' box checked. if i type in my search, i never get the photos. if i type in new search words from the page with my first search results, i get the photos. i don't know why this is. same search from the category page never yields photos.
