just got the new "power seller" email

front and center AFA, Give me a break it's dead put it out to pasture and let it die in peace.

this is the one that really gets me
"Productivity Tools"
SquareTrade Seal
Stand out as a trusted seller and tell buyers you aim to please with the SquareTrade Seal. Now, you can benefit from a new pricing structure and brand new features for the SquareTrade Seal.

PowerSeller Seal Members are already seeing the benefits: "Since we posted our Seal on eBay, we've noticed an increase in the number of items sold, AND an increase in the closing price of auctions. Thank you! Thank you!" - (had to remover the seller info to comply with AW)

What the He$$ is ebay doing promoting something that is suppose to instill trust and make you stand out as a "trusted seller" what is feedback for you MORONS? If you really want to give something back, really give something to the people that pay your bills like the power sellers(they ding us over 1000 a month each and every month) give us the stupid thing if your feedback system is so broke that we need to have it so we "Stand Out" and show that we are a "trusted seller". Or better yet why don't you come up with a better feedback system.

Oh Wait that means you couldn't ding us for another 6.00 a month for a "productivity tool" that I don't want and don't care to gain momentum. The people in marketing over there must just be a pathetic bunch of inbred morons trying to put a good spin on yet another product that won't do jack for the seller, but will put a few more dollars in your pocket at the expense of ours.

For a change why doesn't ebay focus on fixing all the problems that plague your site and other services. I would list them here but I don't want to be up all night.

Pull your head out and do something right for a change, oh wait if you did that you just wouldn't be eBay.

eBay fees are like being slowly pecked to death by chickens!!!

I would just avoid this nonsense like it's the plague. I never bothered opening an E-bay store, my "view about me page" basically fills in for that purpose. I agree with the being pecked by chickens statement. It seems like they are bloodsucking leeches also.

Does it come with a secret decoder ring, too?

No secret decoder ring, but the Three-Dee X-Ray Glasses almost make up for the loss of graphic content in the "Adults" category, if you're into such things . . . <snicker>

After reading the original post, I feel like I just got all that off my chest too. Couldn't have said it better myself.

What a mind merge!
I feel like I just had a really good ranting vent.
I had to take a deep breath and smoke a cigarette!
thanks ~

Actually, 'Productivity tools' is fairly accurate, depending upon your perspective. If you're thinking about ebay's bottom line, this is fairly productive.

Pretty interesting...

-----------------
-Buyer Alert Emails (Coming Soon!)
Each time a bidder bids on one of your items, SquareTrade will send an email on your behalf that tells the bidder your commitment to customer satisfaction.

-Winning Bidder Emails (Coming Soon!)
Each time a bidder wins one of your auctions, SquareTrade will send an email on your behalf that tells the bidder your commitment to customer satisfaction and ensuring they had a good transaction.
------------------

Gee, six bucks a month sounds pretty cheap for "productivity tools," a.k.a. spam, such as these.

And another:

In an eBay poll of buyers, the 5 most important things buyers considered before bidding were:

1. seller's feedback
2. seller's commitment to mediation
3. seller's return policy
4. verification of the seller's identity by a third party
5. insurance coverage for the item

When's the last time you had a buyer who even knew what SquareTrade IS, let alone check to see if a seller offered it before bidding?

Another "scientific" (only slightly doctored) ebay poll.

Call me wierd, but if I received an email when I bid on a seller's auction that stressed how committed they were to good service and then got another one if I won (again stressing how committed they were to good service), I would start worring. I would find myself wondering why this seller has to have Square Trade trying to convince me they are great. Does that mean they have had problems in the past????

It's been my experience in life that the more a person feels the need to convince me they are honest, the tighter I need to hold on to my wallet!!!

Wasn't there a thread not that long ago where a seller routinely sent her bidders an email thanking them for their bid and eBay notified them to stop spamming????

Wonder what eBay will say if someone receiving the ST email "on behalf of the seller" complains to safeharbor that they are being spammed??????

A square trade email after the auction is over seems like a blatant ST ad to me. I also believe that it is a little late in the game, when the buyer has committed to buy, to be worrying about the quality of the seller. jmho

PowerSeller Seal Members ?

There are 5 of them from what I understand. And they wear brightly colored jumpsuits, know some martial arts and drive funky vehicles that trun into a big robot.

Ring a bell for anybody?

That's interesting- there have been posts elsewhere that people using auctiontamer and paypal to send auto-emails to new bidders have been given warnings by safeharbor for spamming.

I guess it's not spam if eBay is the one doing the mailing...

Okay, so no secret decoder ring.

Do they have a special handshake & does it involve using less all their fingers?

As a buyer....I can only say this:

PLEASE SEND ME MORE EMAILS TO CLOG UP MY SYSTEM!!!

I already get enough CRAP to wade thru each day.....eBay doesn't need to add to it!

Maybe they could get "Jiffy" to co-sponser this one.....Spam always did taste better with peanut butter!
