Will you be posting more auctions for the Christmas season this year than last year,or less auctions? Right now it looks like I will be posting much less than I did last year. This time last year I already had a good idea what was going to be a good selling items. This year I have no clue, maybe its to early to tell.

last year a lot of lower priced items moved on ebay-under 20 dollars.
i would think this year is no exception, with all that terrorist attacks, folks may want to shop online more instead of being in a crowded mall.
too bad ebay storefront is such a flop, otherwise it should be a good place for xmas shopping

At this rate I will be listing less items. I'll be monitoring consumer confidence week to week. I hope as we get closer to Christmas things will pick up.

List, list, list. The more items you list, the more you'll sell.
Don't wait for it to happen, make it happen.
You'll never sell a thing if you don't list it.

I'm with Mylanta. I'll be listing like crazy during the holiday season, as I've done the past couple of years. Relatively speaking, the Christmas season will still be the best time of year to sell many items.

Probably about the same or slightly less than last year. I'm more diversified this year as to where I sell, but I have more stuff. I may also try Yahoo since I still have an ID and an account there.
I have a short attention span and change jobs often, so I think some of my eBay negativity lately may be a result of the fact that it's getting old to me. Whereas other venues are still new to me, so they seem like fun.
Some new stuff that I was holding for xmas, I already decided not to, and put them in a b&m. They're selling nicely, but if any are left the end of Oct, beginning of Nov, I'll put them on eBay.
I got dem eBay blahs - not the blues because I'm doing ok elsewhere - just the blahs because it just hasn't been exciting lately.

The only way to show consumers that they should have no fear to buy is to sell. Let me explain myself. If everyone started not listing on eBay and potential buyers kept checking into eBay and every time they did they saw less and less merchandise for sale this would tell them something is wrong and they wouldn’t bid or use BIN. They would become fearful.
It’s like those “other” auction sites that none of use sellers will list on because we know there is no sell through rate so we don’t bother. If consumers see no listings they will lose faith with eBay just like most of us have with other auction sites and won’t bother buying there any more.
Lets also take the stock market as an example. When the NYSE reopened stocks started to plummet. Once people noticed other people were buying the Dow went up and has been slowing increasing. People are being conservative right now and watchful but they are buying stocks again.
So if potential buyers are watching then it only makes sense to list as much as you can. The more you list the more of an opportunity you have to sell. It’s like the lottery. You can’t win if you don’t play. The same goes for selling. If you don’t make your merchandise available to the consumer it definitely will not sell, no ifs ands or buts about it. At least if you list you have a chance.
Everyone counts on holiday sales. Some businesses make it, or break it during this selling period. We have to at least try. We should be putting up the best of our merchandise, not crap. People have to see that buying on-line offers them a safe environment, a place where they can purchase quality products and services, and get these products and services at reasonable rates.
I agree with [wowwow85] that consumers this year may want to shop on line more instead of being in crowded malls due to the terrorist attacks. . On-line shopping was great last year and we can make it even better this year.

Thanks kolonel22 for the pep talk.
Your quit right!
I'm going to do it....win, lose or draw, I'm going to get my depressed fanny in gear and just start listing all that stuff I had earmarked for these coming months and let the chips fall where they may.
