I guess I was wrong.

America the Beanie Baby signed by Ty Warner sold for $24,000 on AFA [it had 111 bids].

You could buy a brand new car for $24,000. I couldn't imagine spending that much for a $5 toy.

AFA is not an indication of how much something is worth!

I agree. I can see someone spending $40, $100, even $300 [for the signature], but $24,000 for a beanie baby.

That's ridiculous!

It sold for nearly three times as much as the Jack Sweigert Apollo 13 Flight Suit & Jacket. Now that's a collectible IMO.

Nope, beanies are still 'dead'.

As ahc3 stated, take A4A out of the picture and a different story may be told.

Some of the stuff listed there is pretty incredible for sure!

A week or two ago, I saw four "Fun with Dick and Jane" books listed. Three regular, one A4B. The three regular auctions had bids commensurate with their condition - $20-50. The A4B was at $202.50 with about the same time to go as the other auctions. It was in about the same condition as one of the regular auction ones. What do you think the usual eBay market price for this book is?
