Ok, so this really ANNOYING bidder of mine a few weeks back - he wins, and then he INSISTS that he pay me via paypal - this despite the fact that I don't take it and it CLEARLY says in all my auctions that I don't. I tell him no, sorry, you should've read the auction closely, send me a check/money order. He sends me several whining e-mail begging me to join paypal (which I used to be a part of until they ripped me off some time ago, and I don't exactly want to rejoin); all over a measly $6.50 transaction. Finally he says he'll send a check. Three weeks have passed and he hasn't sent one. First he acts like the check was lost in the mail, then in the very next e-mail says he'll send it out right away, he forgot. I'm really tired of dealing with this weasel and have given up hope he'll send payment. What I want to know is, how long can I wait to neg him so he can't neg me back? He's exactly the type to neg me and lie about his failure to pay and insistence on dictating my auction's terms, so I want to wait until the last day possible to neg this jerk. Is it 60 days after the auction ends? I forgot. Sorry for the long-winded post, this guy just reminds me of why I've scaled back my eBaying lately, too many rude people who can't be bothered to read your rules when they bid and then act like it's YOUR fault. Grr!

Sorry but that assurance doesn't exist. If you can neg him, he can neg you.

It used to be 60 days but now as long as the auction remains in the ebay database, then either party can leave feedback. And no-one can tell you w/100% certainty how long it will stay in the database. I've had auctions end there, still valid, well over 90 days.

Have you filed an NPB alert and collected your FVF credit? Three weeks out is plenty of time to file the alert. Do that. If you haven't gotten paid in ten days then get your credit. Then neg him and block him.

These guys are real time wasters. Two weeks after the end of an auction I file an NPB and then get credit ten days later if the money isn't there. The neg is just for good measure. What they do is hang themselves. I am giving the bidder exactly the number of days that eBay specifies. They can whine all the way to NARU land. So sad too bad.
