I am a fairly new seller on eBay, though I have been buying for a while. I had a recent auction for a fairly inexpensive widget--the auction closed at $15.00. The winning bidder responded very quickly to my e-mail after the auction closed, and I received his Money Order yesterday (well within the 10 day time frame I specify in my auction).
While packing the widget for shipping, I noticed a small flaw which I had not noticed before--certainly not when I was listing the item. I e-mailed the buyer right away, and gave him the choice of a partial refund in the amount of his choosing, or the return of his payment (in effect, cancelling the sale). The buyer was VERY understanding, and told me not to worry and to ship the item anyway. He added that he also sells on eBay, and has also "missed something after it was listed".
Hence, my query...I still feel that I should do "something" by way of a refund, and that I would be remiss in not doing so. Any/all thoughts would be greatly apprecicated!

Some flaws are considered acceptable by bidders. Don't lose any sleep over it--it's up to the bidder now; if the bidder wants an adjustment, he'll ask and you can do so then.

I would save his responce E-mail. Just in case he is not so understanding after he recieve's the item. As far as the refund,do what you think is right!
