Tonite, Ebay ended an auction I had for a Smith-Wesson Mirror that has been hanging in our spare room for a couple years. Of course they said Smith Wesson requested it. I did a check before I listed and after they ended the auction, and there were 854 SW items via title and description search. How do the powers that be decide who has violated a Vero members item?

thats the problem with vero it is arbitrary I had a auction ended on a Coors advertisng peice
ok I thought you cant sell coors. IT turned out it wasn't coors who vero me but some jerk who takes beer cans and sticks clock movments in them he claims he has vero trademark on "beer can clock"
My auction was ended another action of the same item was not vero guess where my bidders went ? Other seller did very well. I smell colusion

I emailed ebay 5 times asking how I could complain about abuse of vero ...still waiting for a response from ebay 6 months later
It may not have been Smith and Wesson who vero you but someone else claiming some controll over your item.
who knows maybe someone has vero mirrors
I would fill out the ebay forms caliming your item is not a copywrite infregment and then you can relist.
The person who vero you would then have to take you to court to stop the auction and they would have to take you to court in your town not theirs.

Good luck

VERO sucks !!!!!
spock here......
Live long and Prosper

You must have had a knock off. You will lose your VERO if you abuse the right. They cannot end a sale if the item is authentic. Edited to say they should not.

Maybe Ebay needs to be taught a lesson on the illegal use of VERO. File a complaint with the better business bureau against them if your item is legit. Otherwise, bury your head in the sand if it's not legit and forget it.

I got a quick answer from the company who had my item removed.

"Your use of the xxxxx xxxxxx name on your mirror is an illegal,
unauthorized use of our trademark. You cannot use our name to make a profit
for yourself. Just yours??? I took 23 illegal auctions off e-bay yesterday
for the exact same reason, and I will continue to do so. The use of a
trademarked name without authorization is forbidden by law."

So I guess they are going to try and remove 800 plus items mentioning their revolver company.

They may do that.

It only takes one sour ebayer to report you to the vero member for your auction to be taken down. Someone probably has the same item for sale at a higher price. Have you checked? If so, better prepare a list of auction numbers and start reporting.
