Hi all--I just launched an auction of an old pitcher we've had for years and years. If you can tell me what the pattern is before I get a bid, I'd love to be able to identify it in the auction. Thanks. Adele
LOL I guess it'll help to give the auction number! 1287123291

Looks like Cherry Blossom by Jeanette.
edited to add that recent history on eBay shows it sells in the $45-60 range. If it were mine I'd edit that title to reflect the name of the pattern.
Good luck!

Paperfan: Thank you *so much*!!! I've edited the auction to reflect the real name. Had no idea it was as valuable as it is, and I just kept the 9.95 starting price.
One problem I have--the format I'm using through AuctionWatch listing repeats the title of the auction lower down where my description starts. I don't know if there's a way to delete that or change it. Didn't used to be there. Any suggestions?

roadsmith,
If you go to Ebay again and edit your auction, you will see that verbage in the body. You can change it there.
It's a lovely pitcher btw. I want it.

Joice: And again, a big thanks to you. It worked. I don't understand why that template repeats the title, though. Do you know?
And I'm glad you like the pitcher. I'd want you to have it!
Hey, Eventer. LQQK! (Made ya look!)

No I don't know.
And again, a big thanks to you.
The lengths one will go to when they want something.

Not to rain on your parade, BUT, the scalloped-bottom, Cherry Blossom pitcher has been reproduced. There are so many details involving the difference that I must just direct you to the Repro sections of Gene Florence's Depression Books

Glassperson: Thanks for the tip. I have revised the auction (once again) to include information on the age of the pitcher. It was used from the '30s until last year at a family cabin that had been in the family since 1925. Relatives remember being served fresh orange juice from it in the 40s and 50s. I am guaranteeing its age.

Hi roadsmith
Your pictures are much better than most others that are listed for this piece.
If you show a view of the bottom of the pitcher the people that are familiar with this pattern may be able to tell that it is authentic. The reproductions have a different look to the pattern in the bottom.
Though your description as it is should inspire enough confidence for them to bid.
Good luck with your auction.

Thanks, Kiara. I'm hoping my reassurances are going to be enough, but if someone asks, I'll take a pic of the bottom and send it. Appreciate your help. Adele

Hi, I just wanted to comment that it is really beautiful. We have 3 young boys, so in my house we use TUPPERWARE!

Iluvladybugs: Yes, we all had Tupperware when the kids were small. The Catch-22 is that when the kids are finally out of the house and you can have some nice things around, the grandchildren beginning arriving. Funny trick from Mother Nature, I say. And. . . I still have Tupperware!
I am constantly amazed to see breakable things we've inherited which have been used and used and still have no chips or damage. How does that happen?!

Just wanted to wish you well. A few months ago I sold a childs tea set in that same pattern and it closed fairly high, so hopefully your pitcher will do well. I know there are some good buyers out there who collect it. It is a beautiful pattern. :0)

Ashlandtrader: I looooove my buddies on AW! I'd never heard of Jeannette brand depression glass until last night. And I have 4 bids already, up to $35, because my friends told me exactly what the pitcher was.
I'll bet the child's set was adorable. Hmmm. I could easily get hooked on this pattern. . . . but it's too late now! ~Adele
