Ebay is getting greedy and charging to many little fees. It's just like a bank. Who can afford to sell a cheap item when Ebay will take the payment for themselves.

Welcome to the real world! The trick is keep looking for viable product at a decent price that in the opening bid pays for the item, the listing and payment fees and a bit of profit. Then pray for a bidding war. Find likethings and put theminlots. For an exampleI must have 100 different types of candles, new, all over the house that I will never use. Been thinking of putting them altogether and lot them and get rid of them. Ya just never know what people will want and for what reason.

furkidmom is right, there are ways to look at reducing or minimizing your costs. Consider putting items together in lots rather than listing individually. Saves of insert fees & PP/BP fees.

Another idea: diversification. Are some of your items books? Try half. Some folks have been liking Yahoo lately and the fees are lower. Is there a funky gift shop or (if you sell higher end items) an antique store near you? Try consignment. Think about not taking cc's or if you do, switch to c2it where the buyer pays.
Put the word out to friends or people at your job when you have an item that may not find an audience on eBay. I once got a wonderful loom at a yardsale for $25 - sold it to a member of my live-in's church for $100. She's a block over, no shipping hassle, no fees, etc. Creativity is key.
