I have been selling on eBay for over two years and usually have about ten auctions ending on a Sunday evening UK time. I have always had bids from USA, and several lots go there. I have just had 8 auctions end without a single bid from USA! Please start bidding again.

I'm also from UK and have just started listing again after a 3 month hiatus. I think my sales to USA are down a little but not too bad. Mind you, I've started listing in $'s due to use of AW so maybes this should have made up for shortfall.
Optomoistic that it will pick up again though, it's also nice to note that many of my repeat buyers are bidding on my auctions despite my recent absence.

Its all 911...
I sell from Canada, and had a bonus first week and a half in September until the 11th, then it picked up again in early October until the bombing of Afghanistan started and its been rocky ever since.
I actually had 1 US bidder (regular buyer) say that she wasn't buying anything on ebay right now because of the anthrax scare).
I swear the best barometer of the US psyche and economy is ebay. Everytime something has happened, I have directly noticed ebay sales waiver. The US election fiasco, the tech stock drop... and of course all the recent stuff.. When the US sneezes, ebay says Gadzuntite (although I haven't the faintest idea how to spell that word...)

Well, I am from New York, and am an avid reader of mysteries, and concentrate solely on the british police procedurals or cozies - many authors are solely published in the UK. I would be thrilled to purchase my used PBs and HCs from a UK seller - but the shipping prices quoted, plus the poor rate of exchange US$-pounds sterling just does not make it cost efficient for me. (I am on a tight budget). If prices were a bit lower I would buy more! I also don't mind waiting for the slow boat to deliver my books.
any UK sellers having used cozies and police procecural mysteries to sell can email me at [email protected]

fonthill, I am a US seller, and my sales mirror yours exactly. My items are "optionals", not "neccessaries" and I think what you sell has a lot to do with current sales.
Many US buyers are simply in no mood to think about ebay and its offerings. The media have been pounding away at the terrorism threats and it has affected the typical consumers psyche. Even though many of us are not allowing events to affect our buying, an equal number have dropped out.

I recently won an auction for some magazines from the UK. The winning bid was $4.50 and the shipping was $45.00. That could be the reason.
To add a little insult to injury, my payment was mailed in early September and as of today, it still hasn't arrived. Thank goodness for patient UK sellers
brooklynguy ... I think our friends in the UK are a "little busy at the moment" too, for the same reason you are
