I have had to reboot my sytem 4 times this afternoon while searching Ebay. I will be in someones auction and it just freezes. I have had this happen once in a while but never this many times. Is it my ISP? Ebay?? nothings changed on my computer. Thanks for any help.

I won't really be of any "help" except to let you know that it happened to me today 3 or 4 times. Actually, my computer didn't freeze but my Netscape browser did. I just did a ALT-Delete-Ctrl, which closed my browser. I then re-opened the browser. Only had this happen on eBay's site. Do you use Netscape?

ebay is mucking around with the site for the rollout of Checkout tomorrow.
Using both IE and Netscape it is locking for me too. it helps if you disable JAVA because you won't get hung up on the ads downloading from ads.aol. which slows everything down even under normal circumstances. (The ads come from an AOL server. AOL is the pits anyway.)
If the page looks like it is hanging, hit control-alt-delete. If it is hanging it should say Not Responding next to Netscape or IE.
If you hit End Task it should close the browser. Give it a few seconds to close. You will have to reopen the browser but you shouldn't have to shut down. If you have a dial up connection and your browser is configured to connect and disconnect with the browser it may knock you offline too. But you still won't have to shut down and reboot.
