Oy!!!
And they used to have full page ads in the Maine Antique Digest.
It's a shame, competition is good but if they don't make money they can't stay in business.

I think they tried to be too classy from the beginning and lets face it not everyone sells real "American Antiques" which was their owners specialty. They just did not appeal to the masses, when they first came online with their "Auction Galleries" or whatever they were called it just looked like a big clique of high end snooty antique dealers. Nice but I knew they never would last

RIGHT ON RAGLADY1 - Even though I have high end American Antiques, I found the group to be cliquish, and only posted there a few times....I'm not surprised at their demise.

They were partially owned by The Maine Antiques Digest, probably got a nice price break on ads, eh?
I find it strange that I am registered as a potential seller there, but as of yet have received no such email - but I know of others who have. I just went over there to see if there were any new auctions registered and there are - ending Oct. 30 - also others already running that aren't supposed to end until Nov. 11. Then I went to see if I would be allowed to list an item - no problem. No warning about impending closure, just fields for information and photos and, I would assume, an eventual charge for listing. Curious.
Eppraisals at least had the courtesy to post on their homepage the notice of their impending demise so people would not keep paying for appraisals that wouldn't happen. Just takes a bit of HTML, and it's reasonably painless to produce.
