I have been getting a lot of UNSIGNED money orders lately. The line for the purchaser to sign isn't signed. My bank says this IS a big deal and I can't forge or just pretend hubby sent to me or something and sign HIS name as the purchaser They said I MUST send back for signature and that is what I have been doing. Of course, the customer does not like this and I hate having to buy a stamp for their mistake. If this has happened to anyone else, what have you done???

Only got one. Made a scrawl for the signature and deposited it. It's not like an unsigned personal check. Buyer has already paid for the MO. By sending it to you, buyer has already agreed to pay you (ulike an unsigned check which is worthless until signed). Who exactly is going to come after you? Not the buyer. They dont even get the MO back. Is the PO going to verify the buyer's signature and against what? They don't keep a record.
If you do send the MO back, you run the risk or its getting lost in the mail, or stolen or of the buyer deciding to keep it.
