Does anyone have a suggestion of a way to fix my current problem? I just got my first negative feedback and my hands are shaking so bad I can hardly type!!
I have over 1350 postives. Got a note yesterday from a winning bidder that she didn't get a note about where to send payment. I replied to her email address and also forwarded the note that I sent to her about the auction with my address etc. that I sent to her on Nov 25 only 3 hours after the auction closed.
The note yesterday I relpied to the instant I got it ( I was sitting at the computer at the time) She left really nasty feedback.
I went to the customer service thing, but it either isn't working correctly or once you select , feedback, negative feedback, continue, it stops working, I don't know.
Goodness, I work so hard trying to keep everybody happy and now this.

From a seasoned Pro....with 7600 feedback and 17 negatives .... Move on and forget about it..... You have not control over feedback, you can't change it, and in most cases it is over something under $10.00. Why waste your time any more on the person. Block them from future bidding on your auctions and take a deep breath and support your GOOD customers.

How nasty? If there are swear words you can contact ebay and try to get it removed.
Consider yourself fortunate that it hasn't happened before this. Respond in a calm factual manner, and then block that bidder so they don't do it again.
Sorry it happened to you but any bidder with any sense will see that you have a good rating.

Sandra,
Sorry about the negative feedback. In theory with the application of $25, as I recall, you and your buyer can change the negative to a positive. If you haven't sent the merchandise, you've got a bit of leverage. On the other hand seems like your buyer was just being a total jerk. I'd be really upset, too.
You can try and contact her (nicely now) and see if she'd be willing to go through the process of erasing her stupid comment (you must not use words like "stupid" or "jerk" however).
Here's a link where I think you should be looking to start the process to remove feedback. Notice that there are a bunch of criteria (like the leaver was a minor which was news to me). You can also make your feedback private until the matter is resolved.

I wouldn't even consider making my feedback private if one lousy negative was on it after that many positives.
As a bidder I could see your feedback and judge that you were negged by an idiot. But if I couldn't see your feedback I may imagine all sorts of reasons why you are hiding it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am a bit calmer now. She didn't use curse words, but I thought it was a bit nasty, here is what she wrote and my response.
Complaint : DIDNT SENT PYMT INST. SO I CANT GET MY ITEM!!! WONT ANSWER MAIL! THEY STINK!!!!
Response - I sent pymt inst. 3 hrs after auct closed. Replied to note of 12/3 instantly!
In the note of 12/3 I asked her to let me know that she got that note, that was yesterday, so I guess she didn't get the note. I triple checked the email address, and it was correct.
You are right, eis98, I was getting a bad headache, but took a deep breath and got back to work.
I wasn't any too calm, kaira, when I put in my response, guess it is a good thing that eBay doesn't allow you much room to write. Lucky for me she hadn't bid on one of my auctions during the three days that my internet connection was out.
Thanks, terrydarc, for the information about getting it removed. I will check it out. As I see it, it is out of my control as to her getting email sent to her. Guess it was seeing those giant red letters spelling COMPLAINT that upset me so much.
In her note to me she said she "bought it off auction, using buy-it-now, and paying top dollar' which translates into she paid $5 with buy it now instead of the $4.50.
Thanks, all, for answering my note. I have cooled down now.

Hello
If you are all that concerned, have a second e-mail address (I use Yahoo) and send from there. I list two addresses to contact me if one fails I hope they use the other. I have had three cases (all AOL) where my e-mails were not getting through and my second address worked. If you know how, set up a receipt which will come back to you when they read your email. It helps some but I am not to inpressed with it. Last but not least do as said prior, block them and move on. My block list is growing. I would rather have no sale than have to deal with an idiot.
Negs really don’t hurt. I have one and am rather proud of it, as my response was so cool.
Have a nice evening. Dave

Thanks, Dave, I didn't think to add another email address in addition to the one eBay has. Good idea, Thanks!
The receipt idea instrests me, but I looked in my Windows 98 SE book and didn't find anything about that, can this be done with Outlook Express?
I got an email from 'her' tonight, saying that she looked through her email again, and found the closed auction note I sent her.
Can you tell me, where to look to do the block thing. Don't want to deal with her anymore.

With 1350 positives, it will get burried really quickly. I've been in a similar situation, in that someone kept emailing me asking why I did not contact them. I have several accounts so I emailed them from another account and it worked, so I did not get a neg. I hope you gave them a big fat neg as well (not that it makes as much difference for buyers) but it might make you feel better to do. I think someone who has 1350 positives, people will easily see that there is no way you don't contact your buyers!

if you want to be a retailer, you have to put up with all these BS from customers,it comes with the territory.
most of these complaints come from folks who pay for an item under 10.00.
neg her in return so she will have second thoughts of negging others in the future.
