I have a friend who has a 10,000 album jazz collection as well as a few hundred books all
jazz related.

This is a lifetime collection, any idea of where would be a good place to sell the whole lot ?

He has one 78 rpm by a James Europe, very early Jazz type recording of Castles Lame Duck and other rare items.

Any suggestions appreciated.

thanks Adrian

Contact a University to see if they are interested in it. Universities with large music/jazz programs may be interested in adding it to their collections. Also, audiophiles in the music department tend to have large personal collections, you could try contacting a jazz band director at the universities to see if he or someone he knows may be interested.

In addition, check with any public radio station that plays jazz; the on-air guy may be interested, too.

Try the record collecting magazines Discoveries or Goldmine. They are both part of Krause Publications in Iola, Wisconsin and should be easy to get a hold of.
