Cold cast porcelain is a mixture of a polyurethane resin and ground porcelain powder. The quality of the figurines, etc. ranges from excellent to really bad. It depends on the manufacturer and how well the item is handpainted. You can usually tell by the cost of the item. Some of the limited edition items are the best quality.
Jade porcelain is fine clay that is unglazed or very lightly glazed so I think it always has a natural coloring.
I believe cold cast is done in a rubber mold instead of a pottery mold and mostly used for figurines but I could be wrong.

I'm looking at a catalogue of products and it's difficult to tell the quality from a picture. I'll be calling the Rep tomorrow on this one.

If you get the chance, go into a collectibles or gift store in your area and view the different resin figurines for sale and you will get a feel for the quality. Pay attention to the painting and the detail.
I never cared much for resin as I collected "real" porcelain for years but I started to like cold cast a bit more when we sold the Budweiser frog figurines several years ago and I ended up buying some of them for myself. Some manufacturers do a great job.
