I was browsing through auctions today and came upon a Power Sellers auctions with no picture.
In the TOS he says that he keeps overhead down by having no pictures and paying no storage fees or insertion fees for them.
I checked out his other auctions and he had pages of auctions with very few bids. Most of the items he sells only a fool would bid on without a picture!!!
How long will he remain a power seller this way????

Maybe, just maybe - he puts the power seller logo on his auctions and he really isn't a powerseller at all.
Or, in an effort to see how an auction with pictures verses an auction without pictures sells he is testing NO pictures out to see if he can save himself some time and image hosting fees.
Personally, no picture and I, as a buyer, do not even look at the auction. I would bet if he is using any kind of counter, his hits are very low without the pictures.

sounds like this powerseller HAS FALLEN ON HARD TIME??
like samurai without a shogun master to serve after meiji restoration when power returns to the empeoror.
what did he sell before, can you tell?it could be he was one of those power sellers made by mass loading repetitively of goods he can get by the thousands ,those sellers often launch a program to upload upto 5000 items a month.
this is a powerful tool ,it can make you mucho money and it could lose you mucho money.
when there are no bids, this program upload cost costs over 1000 dollars in listing fee,it is a monster you want to keep in the cellar when there is no more buyer left -ginzu knife, resin figurines etc .
he could have this program on his pc he can launch and when times was good, the pictures were hosted say by some fee paying picture hosting service.
no he is no longer paying for picture hosting,so every time he unleashed pages of items to list, there is no accompanying picture.

The auction I looked at was bath and body stuff, lot of 16, you definitely wouldn't bid without seeing what you were bidding on!

Worse of all, the description is started with "HERE ARE..." -- I am sure all browsers are saying to themselves "Where?"

Granted, I am a hobby, small time seller. Maybe 20-25 auctions a week. But being too cheap to add pictures is just shooting yourself in the foot.

if all his pictures are stored with a picture hosting co which he no longer uses or it has gone under, and he does not have a way of retaking the pictures because he does not have the merchandise on hand,so he just go ahead and list with out pictures.once he has some money, then he will order them and take some pictures.
if he is an experienced seller ,he knows he should be adding pic but circumstances is such he does not have these pictures.
so bid on his item and help him out

I note 2 former Power Sellers that don't even list anymore. I periodically go through my feedback and check out the people I have dealt with over the years. I find that about 15% have become inactive buying or selling. They have no listed auctions and/or no feedback left within the last 6 months.

His feedback is 2154 so he probably is a power seller. The no photos and 41 negatives would scare me off from bidding.

Okay, I am not a 'power' seller or anything, yet my images have been down into red x's since last night. My seller id is jillellen.com I sell paintings, so without, it is pointless. Help!

jet30, I just checked and your pictures loaded fine.
I have been having the same problem the last few days with a lot of auctions I tried to look at. The pics just come up red x's. I think it is an ebay server problem.

if you are using AOL for hosting your pictures, this is a common problem, you have to refresh the page and pictures will show up.
as for seller with 2100 feedback and 41 negatives, you have to expect some unhappy buyers.
sellers have more than one id on ebay, they could be using a different id to sell.
but i think many sellers have too much inventory they cant sell or too much credit card debt to take any more chances ??
