We just got our web page up and running, and all in all it is a pretty good one, and I thought hey, why not put a link to it on our "me" page on eBay. Well, ebay says that we cannot link or even reference our web site...kinda like AW does, on any ebay pages or the me page.
I update my me page to stay out of hot water with eBay, and our new auctions will not have any reference to the page, but I am just wondering if there is a safe and really cool way to get our site to our bidders attention??
See auction 1323786962 for an example of the old page.
Can I change my screen name from Brandywines to Brandywineliquidators.com and get away with it on eBay?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
PS...I do not spam, we are a legit wholesale company.

Your current auction is in violation of ebay's rules because you have a static url to your website right on your auction page and some have had their auctions shut down because of this.
On your Me page you can have a link to your website and you can find the rules here.

I think ebay changed the rules about having your user name as your website dot com name. The sellers that had already done it were allowed to keep their name before the new rules came in though.

Thanks for the information Kiara,
actually the link you said allows a web site link does not, it further reads:
"Linking to web sites that offer to trade, sell or purchase goods or services, or including links for any purpose other than those listed above is not allowed"
Our new listing will not have the information about our website.
So, I am still in need of possible help with this.
Thanks again!

Do you use AW to list? Do you have an AW storefront? If you do when someone goes into you AW gallery and if they search your storefront can you put your website on that. Just a thought.
I was in an auction this morning that had a link to their website but I can't remember what it was. If I find one I will post it.

I did find an auction that links to a website but I don't want to post it here in case it is illegal. They used a box and when you click the box it takes you to their website and I don't see any connection with ebay. State the rules and if I can post it I will.

Yes you can provide a link on your auction page. You can link to a page with more info but not prices about the auction item. That page can contain a "discreete link to your main website.
Here is ebays words on it.
"The eBay Item page can contain no URLs or links to, or promotional information about, any off eBay web page, including web sites of the seller or any third party.
There are 2 exceptions to this general rule - the eBay item page may contain a link to information related specifically to that item that:
Points interested buyers to another Internet page that contains only more information (such as pictures, product specifications or detailed terms and conditions) about eBay items listed by that seller.
Links from the eBay Item page that interfere in any way with the eBay bidding process, or solicit any eBay user information, are not allowed. Links from the eBay Item page to pages that promote off eBay sales in any way are forbidden, though such pages may generally themselves contain discrete links to other commercial web pages."

From the links policy page on ebay:
"On your About Me page, you may link to your own web site or individual Internet store where you are offering to trade, sell or purchase your goods or services. However, you may not link to any page within online trading sites that offer goods from multiple sellers either in a fixed price or auction format."
So I believe that you can put a link saying please visit my website. That is discreet without having the name of the website. I have been doing this so I hope it's okay.

Hi Brandywine Liquidators- I just sent you an email from your storefront to tell you the number of the auction. Please don't email me back at that address because I do not use that one. It is only for MSN.

Why not instead of Brandywineliquidators.com
use Brandywineliquidators-d0t-com
Brandywineliquidators-a-d0t-com
Replace the o with # zero. It works.

There are 3 ways to get your web site in front of buyers.
Put the link in your end of auction emails.
Set up a payment system that takes buyers to your web site.
Use the "two click" rule as stated above. The first click off your eBay page must go to a page of info about the item, however, there can be a link on that page to a sales site.

What about using an ebay store? They seem to put the sellers web site address right below there username right out in the listing.
