How do you turn off the "request for total?" My WBN has all the info, in it and winning bidders, especially new ones, use the request for total and won't comp;ete the WBN.

Not possible! You can turn off the Checkout icon in preferences under My eBay but it won't matter. The link is found in eBay's End of Auction email to the buyer anyway.
