You've probably seen the commercial - they come to our town a few times a year. They advertise name brand video games, clothes, electronics etc. at "blowout" prices. "Levis starting at $9.99, DVD players for $89.00" blah blah blah. They rent out the convention center in our city. Anyone ever been to one and found decent "inventory" at them. I'm just not sure if it's worth my time or the entrance fee to attend.

I went to one last year, and the prices weren't any better than the stores. If they had blowout prices then those few items were already sold because I never saw any.

I've been to one and no it wasn't worth the entrance fee. Brand new tires were actually retreads. VCR's were refurbished. Videos were just store returns. The only blow out was the hot air that went into the advertising.

Ihula. I know what you mean about the goodwill. I was at the one on Hwy 100 and Oklahoma or National I don't know which one and there wasn't a thing to buy except ziplock items. What a waste. I did better at that resale shop on 76 and Beloit in that little shopping center. Not much there either...

Hi Libra 63,
It just gets frustrating after awhile. I go to the one on Hwy 100 and Oklahoma everyday because it's so close to where I work. I've been to the one in Waukesha a few times - but they are so overpriced for the things I like to look for. I usually don't go to resale shops because I figure those people probably sell on ebay too or at least look on ebay to see what things are worth

Where are you from that they don't have any "pickers"? (that's what I've been told the Goodwill people call the customers that go there all day long to get stuff to resell)
