I recently purchased an item on ebay, and emailed the seller for an address to mail my money order to. Shortly thereafter, he sent me a form email stating that I had to follow a link in order to complete the transaction. I clicked on the link and it took me to some strange web page with tons of personal questions on it and it said I had to fill it all out and then they would email me with payment instructions. Is this odd or what???? I email him back and told him that I would not fill in all the information, and that I wanted to mail him a money order for the item( a whopping $3.59)and to please send me his address. Since then I have received 3 notices from him stating that I had to follow this link. I keep emailing him back with no other response. Help....what should I do...???
Thanks
L

Exactly the reason I don't like automated EOA notices ...

Send him an email with your information and then mail him your money order.

Good luck.

You could turn off cookies, then go back to the page, and if an option is fill in, then put "not relevant to transaction" and fill in the whole page.
Not my name on ebay.

Turn him into ebay. He is not allowed legally to ask for any personal information other than your Name and shipping address on where you would like you item delivered. If he is unwilling to give you the info you need to complete the transaction, then neg him and move on. It sounds like you might be getting set up for something.
Good luck,
bp

i wonder if this is the first step in harvesting our cc data /paypal password and account??
ever wonder how they know your ebay/paypal email addr and send you email saying -log on to this site and claim your award/bonus?
or someone has charged these ebay pruchases to your credit card, log on and undo these transactions-signed ebay/paypal team??

Thank you all for your help. I tried turning off my cookies. I could not get to the site with them off. I got the persons phone number through e-bay, I will call him and hopefully get this resolved.
Thanks

For instance, what kind of questions? Can you list a few?

No one needs more than a name & address.

You should also forward that e-mail with complete headers to ebay. [email protected]
