One of my high bidders tonight has a strange e-mail address. I've sent it twice as it is given to me by eBay, and it's bounced twice.

I know I can't go through NPB with eBay so soon; is there another recourse I have to contact the buyer through eBay? What would you do?

The problem is that the bidder has an e-mail address with the word "bronco" in it, but the second "o" in "bronco" is either a capital letter O or the number 0. I've tried both, and both have bounced. Very strange.

I guess we are going to just have to wait. I have a webtv address that won't go through and my auction ended on the 20th. It bounces back to me saying that that address won't accept any spam email. So I guess I am considered Spam but when ebay hears this they will be spamed. Why do people bid when they can't receive email. Oh well not a big loss just aggrevating.

I had a similar problem - Finally went to the eBay Selling page and sent them a reminder through there (have to wait 3 days).
(Send a Reminder @ bottom of page - Items sold).

When the email bounced back to ebay, they apparantly NARU'ed (or called him). When he contacted eBay - Found out he forgot to change his email record when he changed emails.

Buyer than contacted me full of apoligies and gave advance feedback noting his error.

I'de say (though I wasn't there) that eBay put the "fear of NARU" in him.

So, Why not give it a try?

Roadsmith & Libra63,

You may wish to try re-sending your e-mail to these people through an alternate e-mail address. Spam filters oftentimes will restrict e-mails from going through properly. It is very possible that if you send it through a generic e-mail address (like a hotmail or yahoo account) that your message will go through. Hope that helps!

Just forward the bounced email to Safeharbor with a note that the user has invalid contact info. They will NARU within a day or so. That way, when you do file NPB, you can receive FVF right away. You might get lucky and hear from the buyer, like ccaswell mentioned, but that is rare. Also note, if the buyer is NARU'd for invalid contact info, later reinstated and then negs you for no contact, you will have recourse for removal.

Go through ebay's procedure for getting user contact information (i.e., name, address, phone) and contact him that way. I find that when i do this it often stimulates the user to contact me, since the user is notified whenever someone requests their info.

Pelorus: My e-mail finally went through. I clicked on the high bidder's name/email on the "bid history" page when it was all over and she got the message. The 0 in Bronco is indeed a number, isn't that odd? She says she has trouble all the time with it; I refrained from suggesting she change it!

In the future, though, I did try to find where I could get her contact information but couldn't see it on any of the help pages. Is there a secret door or such?

Everyone, thanks for your help! ~Adele

Thanks BananaSpider. I just sent a Non Pay Bidders memo. It has been over 7 days. Why do people bid and then do this. It is very frustrating. I am glad that I am not a quanity seller cuz if I was and had this problem there wouldn't be time to do anything else. Thanks again

Libra63: On ebay's home page, click on help. Then type "user contact information" in the search box. That's the only way I can ever find anything in the ebay help area.

This might help in the future.

I personally send all my winning bidder an email. I do this from the search by seller and click on include email and last day. Then I click on each winning bidders email address that way I do not have to figure out if it is an "nn" or an "m" or a "0" or a "O". I then copy and paste the email address into my excel spreadsheet.
