I have a friend who has several books he thinks are rare. He called me since I sell on eBay, but I don't do books so I have no clue. He said he went to several sites where they were selling books and that was how you could look up the value, to see what other books identical to it were selling for. The books he has, he can't find anywhere.

Is there a site that he can type in the name of a book, and get the assessed value? Or do you have any other sites you know are good? Thanks!

This is where I go. Although it is not an assessed value place it will tell you a high price and a low price.

http://www.barnesandnoble.com

then click the tab that says out of print books. There you will get a page where you type in the name and author. If they have that certain book it will come up. There are many different book sellers that sell at that site. All you have to do is click on the amount of books they have and it will give you a ball park price. Usually the high prices are first and then scroll down and at the end is the lower prices. I hope this works for you.
