I am perplexed and need some help. I have a lot of kids books to sell. Most of them are in New / unread condition. Someone reccommended half.com and Amazon. I checked out both their sites am not impressed. Being that half.com is part of Ebay and that if a book doesnt sell there, it always suggested to list it on HALF.COM. Maybe my math is really bad but it looks like Half's fees are more than Ebay's!! Am I right??? Amazon looks like it is more trouble than it's worth. Any suggestions? I really want to move this books as fast as possible and with the least amount of fees if possible.

You're correct, both Half and Amazon cost more than listing on ebay, and your books may be posted there for quite some time before getting sold (if ever). You'd also have to list them individually which can be time consuming.

If your goal is to turn them over ASAP with the smallest amount of fees, post them as one lot or a group of lots on ebay and start them with a rock-bottom starting bid and a reasonable Buy It Now price.

I have books that would never sell on eBay, sell quite well on Half. I have seen a very steady decline in the book buyers on eBay and now sell mostly on Half as I do not have fees unless it sells.

If you put enough books out and price them fairly, they will sell if someone wants them.

Are any of them from the American Girl collection? Any from American Pioneers? My daughter loves them and I am in the market for a few.

If you can afford to wait awhile try Half or the new Yahoo Warehouse. Don't expect miracles at those two places like selling all of your books in a few days.

Boy is there a world of truth in every aspect of that statement mballai. The book business in one sentence

Lots of American Girl books will sell fast on Ebay. Don't know about other titles. I would list them on Half and just wait.

When you add up the fees from Paypal, ebay and AW often half is not much more expensive, plus you have to add in more cost for items that don't sell on ebay. And you don't pay anything on half until the item sells. And listing on half is much quicker than ebay.

I find that most lower priced books are moving from ebay to half.com. Overall the book biz is getting very overcrowded.

With nicely illustrated kids books you might consider thinking outside of the box a little bit. I have listed older kids books (with good illustrations, and some that were in bad shape otherwise, ie bad binding, etc) in the crafts section under scrapbooking and had good sell through with those. So that might be one thing to consider.
Good luck to you.

I would sell them in lots and be realistic about your starting bid. Ive sold many kids books and they always sold if they were in lots.
