Auction ended with high bid from a shades and zero feedback bidder at the last few seconds. Sent 4 emails clicking on the email address in the auction and all have been returned as "unknown". It's a strange email address with letters, numbers and a % sign. Filled out the request for phone number form for ebay and that says invalid user ID. What the heck....how could this bidder bid if it wasn't a valid ID? I've sent a "help" question about it to ebay, but will probably grow old before I get my canned no help answer. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried clicking the username on the feedback page to get the email address? I had one buyer that changed his email addy and changed his email info wth eBay too. His old email addy still shows up with his bids though.

I had the same experience recently with a bidder. I reported the "invalid contact information" to eBay and received a nice, personal response within 2 days. I'd go that route as eBay doesn't look kindly on those folks. My "bidder" was NARU'd within 2 days of my reporting. Good luck.

I am assuming that it has been a few days now. If not, then give it a couple to see if this guy contacts you. I have had a few that contact me afterwards with a different e-mail address. If they don't contact you in a couple of days, and if you had another bidder that this person outbid, offer it to that person for the amount they bid. If not, file for non-paying bidder ect.... relist and move on.

Thanks for your help. I did get a personal message back from ebay this evening. They are investigating the situation and agree that the email address is "troublesome" as they put it. Said they would get back to me in a couple of days with results. I was surprised since I've never gotten an answer from them that had anything to do with what I asked. Thanks again.
