I just received a Paypal payment from a buyer with an uncomfirmed shipping address. I know that dealing with this person might create a problem for me. The amount of the transaction is $65.00. Nothing to cough at.
This buyer appears to have an antique shop and wants the item to be sent there. He has a registration date of Dec 19, 2001. Also, he's got 2 feedback with no negative.
Should I accept his Paypal payment and use Delivery Confirmation or what? What could happen if this buyer wants to make a stink of some sort after I send the item?

Approx. 30% of my PayPal customers want their items shipped to an UNCONFIRMED address.
This is no big deal to me...BUT, each time, I have to make THE decision! Because, if they SQUAWK, PP will hang you out to dry -- AND YOU HAVE NO DEFENSE!
Best thing to do: IN THE FUTURE, if you are leary of shipping to the dreaded UNCONFIRMED ADDRESS, state so up front ahead of time in your auctions & EOA email!

i am a buyer and seller however only use paypal to buy do not use it to receive. i always ask the seller to ship to my unconfirmed address (work) as there is no one at home and i have lost packages before. if they are unable to i simply send a money order instead.

instead of dc,how about signature receipt which is 1.75 at the post office (1.25 electronic).
signature receipt will protect you from chargeback if you have your own merchant account, but not sure how it works for paypal.
if paypal said you ship to unconfirmed addr but you have proof of signature receipt, now what??will they pass this to the buyer's cc issuer??

You have to make your own decision. I would do what stopwhining said..get a signature. It's a hard call to make though sinch Paypal clearly states that you have no protection if you ship to an unconfirmed shipping address. I wonder why Paypal doesnt allow for 2 confirmed addresses. I mean 3/4 of the country isnt at home when the mail comes.

I was just held up by PayPal because I shipped to an unconfirmed address in Sept. 2001..the buyer is charging back due to a "fradulent credit card" (this buyer is also verfied as am I)...I was not only robbed of the item amount but also a $10 PayPal fee for chargebacks...and I can do nothing about it since I shipped to an unverfied address. The kicker on this is that my own address is now unverified as I moved a year ago and have repeatedly tried to get the verified address changed...even talked to customer service who said they would "get back to me". Of course, they never did. I am beginning to wonder if this is just another way to get additional fees out of sellers?? Snugg
