A buyer tried to pay my non-business Paypal acct (I cant accept CC's in that acct) and I got an email that Ive never gotten before from paypal with the subject line saying "You've recd a credit card payment". Is this brand new because no one can tell how funds are being sent??

I get them all the time. You need to go to your PayPal account and either agree to upgrade or deny the payment. No this is not new, looks like my first on I rec'd was December.
You can always tell how the payment was sent. Look in the source type box.

I think the source box has changed as well....now they all just say "Instant".......you have to look at the subject line to see if it's a credit card payment.....

It's new on my end..in the past month people have tried to pay me with credit cards and Ive never got an email saying "you've got a credit card payment". I know I can tell from the Paypal site if its CC payment or not..I'm just speaking of this new email. As far as source type...mine ALWAYS say "Instant" with every transaction. They used to say Credit card, e-check, instant transfer or Paypal balance.

Until yesterday..any and all paypal emails I've gotten have said "Jane doe has just sent you $$$". It didnt matter if was was paypal funds or Credit card payments. I'd have to go to the Paypal site to see if transaction was complete (cash) or if I had to accept or deny (CC payment).

I also have been getting the new "You've got a credit card payment" notices since about the last of December......not sure why others are just getting them now......but I like it cause I can tell in an instant if it's a credit card.
