More and more of my auction winners are International and using Bill Point or PayPal for thier method of payment.

I dont mind the extra work with international bidders- but dont want to get burned with a credit card charge backs.

Snail mailed money orders increase the lead time with wrapping up the closed auctions/deals. Plus procrastination factor tends to dragg things along with some slow moving buyers!

Now to my question- is it possible for a buyer to process a charge back on auction payment made through Bidpay.com (Western Union) Online money orders?

Could this be a answer the the charge back issue?

Your thoughts are appreciated- Thanks in advance.

it is possible to make a charge back on any credit card purchase as well it is possible to put a stop on most any money order I believe you can not stop a USPS money order but I that is the only one I know of.

dman3-

if bidpay.com/Western Union send mr the money order by mail- and I cash it- how can the cancel the money order?

how could a charge back be processed if the money order has been cashed?

in other words-
1)the auction winner/buyer makes bidpay.com money order payment.

2) bidpay.com mails money order to seller.

3) the seller/me cashes the money order.

4) seller/me ship's the package after the money order is cashed/cleared.

In the above senerio- it seems like a good way way to beat the charge back issue and fraudulent charge backs period??

Thoughts on this possible solution? anyone

If the money order was purchased with a credit card, it can be charged back, but I don't know on what grounds other than fraud. The issuer may try to get the funds back from whoever got the money order.

the chargeback will hit bidpay, not the seller.
money order can bounce if the issuer of money 0rder ran out of fund to cover ,it has happened.

Well here is bidpay.com reply to this ?

Bidpay's reply " Once a money order has been mailed it isn't possible to cancel the money order, because we have already sent confirmation to the seller and they usually ship the item after receivng this email."

This is really good news- as Ive been hit with some sizable charge backs over the last few months with international buyers.
