I have these 2 designer scarfs. One has a name J. Dormont and the other Gabrielle. I can't find anything on them. But what I would like to know if that little gold metal clip is a certificate of authenyicity.
The one side says Besco and the other side says Anorma Legge 26-11-73-988 both have the same things written on them.
I hope this works:

Gee, I'm glad you've asked about scarves. I have a whole drawerful of designer silk scarves from my "executive girl dressing" days of the 80s. I've been trying to figure out how to unload them, so I'll watch this thread. I've never heard of the two brand names you've mentioned here, though. Is there a specific scarf site on ebay (I'll bet it's just the accessory category).

If you do a search for "scarf" on ebay and check the completed items starting with the highest prices first you may be surprised what some of the designer ones go for. Here is an example:

Yes I have sold some high end scarfs but never a Hermes. I have sold Hermes ties though. Names to watch for are Gucci, Versaci, sometimes a Vera does really good depending on the pattern. I have a couple of Versace's sitting in my house but haven't had time to take the pictures. I guess to lazy. One thing about scarfs, they are easy to pack. A lot of the estate people don't really know about the scarfs yet so when you go to the sales don't forget the scarfs.

Holy cow. I knew that Hermes scarves were valuable and expensive when new, but never dreamed they would go to $586. I don't have any Hermes, unfortunately, but there are lots of Vera scarves. This opens up a whole new yard-sale world for me! Thanks for the tip.

There are others out there also. Dali has designer scarfs, Echo, Shaparilli made scarfs in the 50's that are collectible, Almost any scarf that is signed is good. Also I will give you another item to look for signed hankies. Now I am giving away all my secrets but since you don't live in my part of the world it is okay. Remember when all the other ebayers are groping for the glassware you go to the scarfs and I bet yours will be easier to carry. Have fun and sometime come in here and report your finds.
