I need the help of all the sellers out there.
I purchased an electrical tool from a seller that obviously has a connection to a big department store. He sales (for the most part) tools and appliances exclusively from this store. If the items are used, he advertises on all his auctions that the item "works all the way". I asked some questions about this tool before I bid because it is an electrical tool that is used for one purpose and one purpose only. I asked 3 questions, and the seller always answered my questions in less than 15 minutes each time. Remind you...... this was BEFORE THE AUCTION HAD ENDED.
I felt very comfortable bidding on this used item, as the seller was very friendly, and very responsive to my questions. He even stated that he "tested the item personally". After the auction was over, I received his WBN and I sent payment (money order) to him. The item arrived in only a few days since he used FED EX.
Since this item was a specialty tool, I did not have a chance to use it until the second weekend (about 10 days). When I tested it, it did not "work all the way". I sent an e-mail to the seller asking him what his policy concerning the item not working. I asked him if he could get another item since he seemed to have a connection to this department store. I received no response. I noticed that all auctions always end and begin on Sunday night. I waited until the next set of auctions ended, and then I e-mailed him again. I knew that he could have been out of town, so I waited again until the next set of auctions ended, and I sent a third e-mail.
The seller has a great e-bay rating (575 positives with only 7 neg), so I find it hard to understand what is happening here.
Is it possible that the seller has had e-mail problems? Why does he continue to start new auctions if he is having e-mail trouble?

Hi bigdaddywes, You could always request user contact information from ebay. When you do that they will send you and the seller each others contact info. That may be enough to make him consider contacting you. If not you could always give him a call.

First thing I would do is to email him through one of his auctions. Ask the seller a question. Wait and see if you get a response, it not contact safe harbor, but hope he answers and can resolve your problem

how did you pay for the item? if you used an online payment service perhaps you can chargeback the card......thats the last resort.

he sent money order,so chargeback is out of the picture.
he could get a big NEG from the buyer and if he sells tools for a few hundred dollars, bidders are more likely to check his feedback and read the big NEG.
but one neg may not make that much difference,he could always say this buyer is a constant complainer, damaged it himself etc.
there is really not much you can do except just keep contacting him.
you cannot threaten to email his bidders either as it will be auction interruptions and buyer will get suspended.
can it be repaired?if so,ask him to pick up the tab.
