I have been buying for 6 months on half.com and love it and thought I would list some books to sell... I listed 50 yesterday and they aren't showing up at all when you search for them. I checked and I am not on the vacation deal and I am qualified with 3 credit cards on file.
I emailed them and they canned responsed me with a note saying my email in on their list. But that it would take 3 days to respond.
If anyone here has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

Half only lists the cheapest 4 items in each grade category. Try searching for one of your books and then clicking on the Grade (Like New to Acceptable) in which you listed the book. It should show up as they generally show almost immediately.

Good Luck!

harmonygrove just gave you some good advice. I too used to be concerned about my books not showing up until I clicked on the grade; and then, AHA, you get to see how very many there are in each "condition" and get a bit discouraged.

Someone on AW said a while back that they just show, on the first page when you're searching, the latest books, so I don't know if it's just the four cheapest ones. In other words, the longer our books are in their inventory, the farther down the list they go. I'd like to think that's not true, but I have to say that the majority of my book sales on Half.com have been nearly instant after I listed them--maybe a day to a week. Then, usually, nothing. Discouraging!

It is the cheapest ones that are listed first. The reason I know this is because a couple of mine were way low on the list, and I lowered the price 1 penny lower than the last one showing, and it appeared and kicked the other one down a line! In other words, yours will NOT show up in the first page if they are higher priced. Bad news is...Half.com sellers like to list EVERYTHING at 75 cents! (some are even lower, but I dont know how they did THAT...the lowest allowable is .75

I have tried to list a book on half.com and there is only one other copy of it listed. Mine is still not showing up and I don't know why. It wouldn't be because of the price, though because I priced it lower than the existing copy that is on there for sale. I have written half.com but haven't received a reply.

Thanks for the information... I have listed all my books lower than what was out there at the time I listed. There was 3 titles that there are only 1-3 books available and mine still isn't showing up. It is pretty odd. Of course, half.com still hasn't replied to my question so I will just wait it out but it is pretty disturbing. I have a friend who has over 1000 titles up and she says the longest she has waited was 30 minutes. So, I don't have a clue why mine titles are lost in space.
In the sales management, it says I have xx titles valued at xxx but they just don't show up on a search. Very odd.

So, I just now get a response from Half.com:
Hi Brenda,

Thanks for contacting Half.com Customer Service!

I understand you are still unable to find your item on the site. On
occasion, it can take an hour or up to several days for an item to show
up. I know this is a bit frustrating! Sometimes the item will show up
the next time the database is updated.

I appreciate your patience. In the mean time, you can check your
inventory to be certain the item was listed correctly.

We appreciate your business.

Mandy A. L. - Half.com Customer Service Team

Wonderful, looks like they didn't even check to see why. It has been 2 days and I can't find one of the items I listed in their search. So, now I respond and I am sure that will take another 2 days for them to respond. At least with ebay I get a response in no time flat... to bad we can't use the powerseller email for half.com problems.

Sweetboo, by any chance did you opt not to combine your ebay & half.com accounts. I did and I think it is causing a lot of my problems. My newly listed items aren't showing up at all. My older listings are showing as 'no longer available for sale.'
Also, because I had the same ebay & half.com name, they added -half to my half.com name.
They didn't bother to inform me of this change. (I couldn't figure out why nothing was showing up when I just typed in the name I had always used.) It is verrrrry frustrating. And then when you write about it and wait 3 days for a response they don't even answer your question.

Thanks iwannabuy, but I opted to keep both together. Didn't really think I could opt out of it at the time. So, there shouldn't be any reason why they aren't showing up. It is very frustrating.
