Reminds me of my old neighborhood. Lots of German and Ukrainian joints, where you could buy Prune lekvar scooped from a barrel, filo dough, embroidered blouses, etc. Gone now. Replaced by Laytner's Linens; Gap; Banana Republic; Victoria's Secret; Barnes & Noble; Wiz; PC Richard; Children's Place; etc., etc.... Why should eBay be exempt from becoming just another strip mall?

I think it's "a good thing" that the BIG sellers are coming to ebay. Now bidders will see lots of "outrageous shipping charges." Should help the individual seller who charges nominal/reasonable handling fees. Should also help the individual seller with decent feedback; have you noticed that Sears is getting what I consider excessive negs already? The BIG GUYS sure can rack-up the negs fast. Love it!

ebay sales is too small to cannibalise store sales.
it is a good way to promote sears though.
however, remember return.com which ebay has an investment in?? they thought they could hire staff and sell store returns?they finally layoff some employees and try to get the remaining staff to do all the work of selling on ebay.
employees expect fringe benefits, overtime pay.sick leave, vacation and holiday, all have to be built into the margin of their ebay sales.
also do not forget coffee break.

I don't like auctions where it says they don't accept cash, checks or money orders. You have to pay with your CC by going to their website.
I shop on eBay for convenience. In that I mean sending a check or MO if I need too. Not going to their personal website and paying that way.
Am sure it is just me but it is something I've seen not only with Sears but a few other auction listings and I don't care for it.

big company cannot make too much exceptions,it is just too costly to do so,their procedures and systems are set up to serve en mass.
also not a good idea to let employees fumble with customer cash, money order and personal checks, hard to reconcile and control.
sam clube has its own auctions on its website, members buy there and sell on ebay.
i looked at it ,by the time you won the items, add sales tax and ups shipping,i wonder if you can make money telling them on ebay??

This is someone buying returns, store demos and minor damage items in bulk. I have purchased pallets in the past and will do so in the future for pennies on the dollar to resale. you get about 60% good merchandise and can make some money if you do it right. They may be doing it with the sears name and sears blessing but I don't think it is actually sears selling the merchandise. I could be wrong but those pallets are easy to get hold of and resale so they would stop that if they had the intentions of doing it all themselves.

SURE NOUGH LOOKS LIKE SEARS TO ME. THIS IS NOBODY BUYING THOSE PALLETS. THIS IS SEARS TO THE MAX. I LIKE SOME OF THE LEGAL JARGON. BY LAW WE ARE REQUIRED TO............LIKE, THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES. AND I LOVE THAT GREAT INSERT YOU ZIP CODE AND GET THE UPS RATE!!!! WISH I COULD DO THAT. ALL THAT WORK JUST TO GET A,,,,,,,,THANKS. IF THAT. THAT SEARS THING IS WRITEN BY LEGAL PEOPLE. I AM DEFINTELY USING SOME OF THE INFO IN MY ACTIONS.
