I have a Sony MVC-FD71 digital camera. My camera seems to have gone color blind. Greens come out brown, Yellows are often showing up tan.
I have changed both batteries. I tried different lights. I can usually get a close to actual green if I can take the picture outside but that is not always possible.
Any suggestions?

Its Probably the lighting your shooting under. My purples usually come out blue and sometimes my reds are too green - Use your editing software - you can add or subtract one of three colors and make it look right - or you can experiment with lighting to find one that gives the right tone Full spectrum daylight bulbs work well but the flicker rate messes with the camera a little. Good luck !

I'm a digi user who has had some unusual results. Hop over to PhotoAlley.com and view the postings over there. I picked up invaluable information and technique from the members.

I was browsing through the old threads and came upon this one and I thought I would bump it up so others if they missed it could go to Photoalley.com. I have book marked this site and tonight when I get home from work sit and read it. Looks interesting.
Thanks for the information

I use a Sony FD73, and it has a "sepia" option. If your camera has the same option, perhaps you have set it inadvertently.

My original FD71 camera was purchased in Sept 1998 BUT in Oct or November of 2001 SONY replaced it (kind of I had to pay some money) because it keep getting an error. This camera I rec'd in 10/01 is a refurbished one as was my original. So I do not know how old it is.
The only color that has a problem is green. Greens look brown, brown looks brown. I sell clothing so color is very important.
Thanks,

Have you tried different disks? Maybe you have some bad ones.

I have about 60 disk that I rotate daily. I did try using new ones one day and it did not make a difference at all.
I thought about getting does new GE light bulbs since outside the greens are at least closer to being green.
I have even tried using different background colors...white and black. Maybe I should get a brown background and see what that does to the green. Maybe it will make the difference more obvious.

RichieRich: Mine can do the same thing at times (I have a Pentax, and not a cheepy either) I discovered it depends on my flash setting. you might want to check if it is on auto, redeye reduction or whatever. Set it to auto if you have that option.
Stopwhining: There are forms of brown in Sepia tones.

sometimes when everything fails,i try to pretend i just bot this camera and read the manual and do all the setting per instructions in the manual.
pretend you know nothing aboutyour camera and follow the manual and do everything it wants you to do to set your camera .you have nothing to lose but your time.
