I just launched my first batch of what I thought would be private auctions.....meaning I had chosen that icon while creating my auctions through auctionwatch.
My question is: isn't there supposed to be the word "private" where high bidder is located on the ebay page when viewing an auction?
None of my auctions were I had clicked this icon say this.
Was there something else I was supposed to do to create private auctions??

It will not say "Private" on the actual auction viewing page until you recieve a bid but here is an easy way to see if your auction choice of "private" took effect when you listed it......Go to search and type your own sellers name into the search key under "by seller"......when your current auction list shows up, it will say private in that list of auctions under the tab of "High Bidder".......
I just checked for you and a bunch are coming up as private so it seemed it took Ok......

And never buy an adult item with your seller ID unless it is a private auction. You may get some strange looks when people check your feedback.. LOL

i know an antique seller -all his auctions are private to shield the identity of bidders, many are dealers shopping for resale.
also he bids on his own auction and gives himself positive feedbacks

Thank you all for the responses!
Those that I did put private are thankfully. I guess I just don't get how bidder's are supposed to know that they are private!? They just hope so when they bid I guess! =0)
