Solution #1: Put your cursor on the blue line at the top of the ad screen and drag the window down and left. This will reveal the X you use to close the window.
Sol. #2: Look at the line at the bottom of your screen that has sections representing all open windows. Right click on the one for the popup, then left click "close window."

I do not tolerate pop-up adds on my computer. I do not understand why anyone would.
As a suggestion, go to http://wwwwin.wplus.net/pp/fsc/ and download and install Kill-Ad. I personally think Kill-Ad is the best, it works 100% of the time, it's completely configurable and controllable, it takes almost no memory, and it's free. The author did a beautiful job on it. Or, install a different program -- there are many available. Either way, don't just sit there and watch your blood pressure go up.

It is a pain ain't it. Sometimes the screen is totally taken over, so what do you do?
Press Ctrl and "W" this will wipe out the open window, unless you have an extremely savy programmer behind it, which is seldom the case.
You would think these jerks that launch these pops, would have gotten the message by now.

Thanks, bdunique! I'm going to try the software! I HATE popups! One site I use...for weather...offers you the option to PAY them for the privilege of NOT having pops!
