I need some better software to crop and save my images I put on ebay. I presently use Microsoft Picture It, but it is slow and takes a lot of keystrokes to use. Any idea's on cheap software, all I need to do is crop, scale, and rotate.

Compupic from www.photodex.com. You can get a 15 day free trial before you have to register it. It will also allow you to specify the compression percentage when you are ready to save a finished jpeg.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

If you can find a copy of Ulead Photo Express version 1.1, it's SUPER for doing simple stuff, FAST. 1.1 is an old version with very little extra "fluff", but it's straightforward and only takes a couple of clicks to get cropping, resizing, etc. done. It handles .JPG's beautifully (as well as several other formats), but the only downside I found is that it's not compatible with .GIF's.
If you need .GIF's, you might try Photo Express version 4 (I have it as well). It's a larger program, though, and although it has lots of extras, it does take a few more keystrokes to do things than the first version does. I believe you can download it from ULine's website and try it for free. (They may even have a new version out -- I haven't looked.)
They have a version 2 and 3, as well, but I haven't used them myself. There are some 2 & 3's listed on eBay currently, very inexpensively (like $5).
I find myself using version 1 more than 4 just because it's faster.

Go to irfanview.com and download whatever version of irfanview is available. It is a small program, about 800K, that does everything you want and a lot more, and it's free. Tucows gives it a five cow rating and its available there also.

I agree, Irfanview is the BEST program for what you want to do. I have Photoshop, several Corel programs, Ulead, PaintShop Pro, top of the line programs, but I continually return to Irfanview for resizing, cropping and aligning my images for Ebay. It's easy, fast, and best of all, FREE!! Doesn't get any better than that!!

Irfanview--it does everything you need -- no hassles, quick and easy. The new one even lets you make color and brightness corrections.

Adobe Photoshop LE is a scaled down version of Photoshop, which is the industry standard. LE will let you open multiple images, crop, resize, save in multiple formats, adjust color, brightness, contrast, sharpness, and much more. (You can even alter the lighting effects!)
It is very intuitive and easy to use, and I use it for all my eBay stuff, even though I have regular Photoshop.
And when sales are slow, you can do some really creative arty things with it!
