I recently bought what I thought was a nice framed print, but when I got it home, I found that it was a photograph, and on the back it says "Protected by copyright, not permissable to use this photo in any way." It is dated 1979. Does anyone know if this would include taking a picture to sell it on eBay? I wouldn't be copying it to sell the copies afterall, but I don't want to break any laws!!

Do you own the property? If so, then you would be using the photograph to sell the entire package. Regardless of the copywright on the picture, you are selling the entire setup, frame, mounting, picture, etc.

I read that she wants to make copies of the photos and sell them.
i think she will be violating copyright laws when she sells copies of copy.
say alberto vargas prints, andy warhol prints, bill devoss prints, those you see for sale by any company, the company has to apply and get permission to make copies and pay royalty.

If you want to resell the item, you can take a picture of it and put the picture on eBay as part of the item description. You may not sell copies of it.

Thanks for the replies. No, I certainly don't want to make copies, I just want to sell the framed picture as it stands. I didn't want to get into any copyright violations.
