I went to the ebay registration page to register a new ID for my husband. Because I did it on my computer instead of his laptop I received an error message that I'm already registered. I tried to use the same email address - that's what I wanted. How do I register a new ID?

1) If you are logged in, make sure you log out
2) You can not register a new ID with the same email address, you must have a different email address to register.

In addition to being sure to log out under your current ID, if you use a hotmail or yahoo email address you'll need a credit card and it won't let you use any card that may be already registered.

Thanks everyone - I got it working. Had to use a different email address. I did use the same credit card, though. We're going to run a test this weekend and list identical products under both ID's (I want to get his feedback up) and see if the shades and 0 feedback make a huge difference. I have over 2000 feedback. Should be fun!

ihula,
Let us know how it goes! I was afraid you'd get kicked off using the same CC.

Oh, now I'm paraniod...I didn't think ebay cared if you had 2 ID's. I haven't started listing with his ID yet. We only have one credit card...you think it's a bad idea? The last thing I need is to get NARU'd. Anyone else use the same credit card for 2 ID's?

The only way that you will run into trouble is if one of the two accounts gets NARU'd for another reason. Then eBay will NARU all your accounts.

If I was to take out another credit card under his name and one of the accounts gets NARU'd would they be able to track down both accounts? (Not that I'm planning on that happening, but I've read a lot of bad things on these boards)

ihula,
Don't sweat it. Ebay don't care how many ID'S you have. Just as long as you don't bid on your own items. Having another ID is actually a good idea. Many people have an ID for buying and one for selling. Or one for selling a certain item and a different one for a different item.

I have two ID's and the same email address.

One was the ID I had when I first started on Ebay. Not knowing I could change ID's, I just registered another because I wanted a new ID. There may be a new rule on this, however.
