I just received this email from someone that I had dealings with on Ebay. I followed the instructions and did find the file and deleted it. At that time I forwarded the same to everyone in my address book and received a message back that this was a hoax. I don't think it is and would rather not take any chances. So, maybe this will help someone else.
I have just received notification of a virus that I received which in turn
you have received since you are in my address book.
This is easy to eradicate,
but please follow the directions and make sure you do not open
anything.
The virus is called ( jdbgmgr.exe) it is not detected by Norton or MacAfee
systems.
The virus stays quiet for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent
automatically by the Messenger and by the address book, whether or not you
sent e-mails to your contacts.
I checked found and deleted it. Now it's your turn!
1.Go to Start then Search or find.
2.In the files/folder option,type in: jdbgmgr.exe
3.Be sure to search in your local C drive.
4.Click "find now" or "search"
5.The virus has a "little bear icon" with the name jdbgmgr.exe beneath it
DO NOT OPEN IT!!!
6.Right click and delete it (it will then go to the Recycle bin)
7.Go to the Recycle bin and delete it there as well, or empty the bin.
If you find the virus you MUST contact all the people in your address book
so they can eradicate it in their address book too!!
Unfortunately the email you received is a hoax. In the future you need to check out this type of message on the attached web site before taking any action. According to the information on the site link you may have deleted a valid file.
Here is the link that explains the hoax. The site is great and worth marking for future reference. If I mess up the link just cut and paste it to your browser window.

www.urbanlegends.com is another site. Whenever you get a message like that, just search on a Web search engine for the filename and you'll soon find out if it is a hoax.
One dead give away is if says Microsoft or Symantec, etc "don't know about this yet" or "don't have a fix for this"

There is a warning about email messages that do just what this does "asking you to DELETE a suspect file if it comes up when you search" The trouble is the files mentioned are normal files which everyone has on their machine. Usually the file you are asked to delete only kills Java. Im not sure what this file does. I would warn everyone you sent this message to -not to delete the file. You can repair the deleted file by reloading it from your windows cd. Luck to you.
