I just showed a friend the post-sale management tools that Auction Watch has. She was most impressed, but as a buyer she asked if Auction Watch or anybody else has something like that available for buyers. She liked the numbered system of following the progress of completed auctions.
Can auctionwatch be used by buyers for post-sale tracking? If not, does any other service do anythingsimilar?

I don't think auctionwatch does, but in the last 2 days I've received automated emails from sniping services requesting information from buyers. Something like "I won your auction using esnipe (I can't remember what the other service was) please email me with the final price...."
I actually found it annoying, but figured I couldn't complain since I send out AW automated WBN.

You can try Shooting Star. http://www.foodog2.com/
It allows for tracking purchases as well as sales and progresses in a step by step process.
I love it.
