Hi group
I found these apparently very old miniature leather books at a garage sale and thought they might be worth something.
Can anyone identify them for me and suggest where I might list them on ebay?
There is no date to identify them. The title page has :
"Little Leather Library Corporation New York". They are poems and the booklet is about 80+ pages. The booklet measures 3" x 4" with a leather cover.
The book titles are:
ENOCH ARDEN............TENNYSON
WILL O' THE MILL.........STEVENSON
COURTSHIP OF MILES STANDISH......LONGFELLOW
THE HAPPY PRINCE.....WILDE

Try some of these sites:

http://pages.tias.com/2374/InventoryPage/1362394/1.html
http://www.goantiques.com/categories/books_6.shtml
to find more. Go to www.google.com and do a search for Little Leather Library. I have my Dad's from when he was little and I would not sell them for the world. They are quite fun though, aren't they?

dont give up on them so fast. they are Little Leather Library books, which were given away as premiums with soap or something from the 1890's to the twenties or thereabouts and they have versions of the classics all jammed into 90 odd pages...there are always a page or two of them on Ebay, but once in a while you'll hit on somebody who is completeing a collection and needs the one you have up. I have a bin full of them and once in a while when boredom strikes I'll put a few up...they almost always bring 4 to 6 bucks a piece and I have realized as much as 35 for a single edition. On one occaision a guy needed two of the four I had up and that's when they went up to over 30 apiece, apparently somebody else needed those two also, so a little war got started. Customers of the day were able to send off for a pair of metal bookends to hold their collection. They are done in that coppery looking Arts and Crafts style and bear the bust of Lincoln. A complete set with the bookends is worth a hundred or more, so be on the lookout....
