Hello,

I have a full time job and I also sell on Ebay as well. I assume I'm not the only one.
So, who else uses Ebay as a second income source? Also, how much do you list daily? And what are your time saving strategies, etc? Thank you.

That's me. My husband got downsized and has been looking for a new position for the past three months, so I have taken up selling collectibles on Ebay. I have a relative who likes to go antiquing so I take her with me on the weekends looking for items. I usually pay all of the trip expenses and in exchange she does all of my shipping for me, which is a wonderful time saver for me, as I work during the day and it is very difficult for me to get to the post office.

I work full time to pay the bills and ebay part time for mad money. I buy at yard/garage sales and flea markets and use every penny I earn to have a good time. I love ebay.

My wife and I both work full time and then spend maybe 20 to 25 hours a week with eBay. We list 50 to 100 items per week.

I'm another full-time job holder who does eBay on the side.... although sometimes I think I do eBay full time and have a job on the side! I list about 400 auctions a month, and just achieved powerseller status. I'm actually in a great position. I'm the Computer Store Manager for a private College Bookstore and my Boss allows me to do my personal eBay auctions at work when I don't have anything else to do. It works great for all involved... I get more time to list stuff and respond to e-mails.... plus I work harder at my job so that I can get done quicker and work on my eBay sales. As a result, I only have to spend about 10-20 hours a week at home packing eBay sales and other eBay related tasks that can't be done at work. Not to mention, since I'm at a College, we have our own campus post-office. No lines, no travel time... just pop in for 5-10 minutes at lunch and I'm set! Life is good!

I am retired, work 16 hours and try and do eBay. If I could only list 25 a week I would be happy. Marcn, alldings when do you sleep? Thank goodness my husband helps me pack and also takes my packages to the PO.
Do you list once a week or do you put on 5 a night? I sure would like to make my life easier but it seems like I sit at this computer when I am not working. It's great to hear how others do it. Thanks for sharing

I work full time as a nurse. List approx 30 items a week on ebay. I have been liquidating inventory from an antique shop that closed last year. I have been using the ebay money to renovate my house. I take all of my pictures at once, load up into auction watch and then do all of the descriptions over the week. I use the auction manager and pre list with scheduled launchings for Saturday evenings. After pictures are taken every item gets packed in a box and labeled with post its in the garage with what the item is. I do not seal the boxes at this time in case I have multiple bids. I only ship on Fridays, with UPS. I drive to UPS once a week, all of the packages are pre labeled using the UPS website and printing off the labels. I do not have to stand in line, they take the packages immediately and bill me once a week, which I pay by check. On my way back from the UPS site, I stop at a wholesale packaging company and buy any unusual sized boxes, bubble wrap and tape I may need for the next month or so. With this system I spend maybe a total of 10 hours a week. A big help is that I already have the inventory. The most difficult thing is the organization of the items.

Libra, I usually just run auctions in the winter when there isn't much to do. What I sell is easy to pack and ship. The big pain is photographing & scanning which takes a lot of time.
