Well gang put on your thinking caps for a good puzzle.

I have an ebay account & a half com account. They are NOT combined and have different user ids and passwords. The email from the half com email account addy is automatically forwarded to my business email.

Today I get an email from an ebay member. She received an email from me via the ebay forwarding system with a blank message and a header of "Some Questions for You". The email was definitely sent via the ebay system and the user id and email addy on it were mine from my half.com account. It was not associated with a specific auction.

I didn't send it, I don't know her and have no idea why she got it. She has no open auctions and I have never purchased from her in the past. Her email addy is not in my address book. I rarely use my half com account and never surf ebay signed into that account. Even if I was going to ask a seller a question (and I haven't for weeks) I would do it from my ebay account.

I checked my half.com account and the password still works and all is well there.

My computer is in my home and no one else uses it. I share the house with my husband and my cat and neither are computer literate. I have never surfed ebay from any computer than this one.

So the question is : How was the email sent, if I did not send it.

This is driving me nuts and I know someone out there may have a simple answer that is not a chapter from the Xfiles.

The stupid 'ask seller a question' thing at eBay is now at Half. The other day I got an email from eBay that had no auction title or clue as to what it was about. The question was "Does the book have corn snakes in it?" It took me a while to figure out that I had a snake book on Half. When I got around to it on Half's 'my account' section I asnwered back "No." eBay could at least tell the sellers the source of the question.

The same thing happened to me this week. Another seller received an email through Ebay's system with no text in the body and my Email address on it. He also received another one from another seller in the same format. He thinks we are conspiring to send him a virus!!! I've never heard of this person or the other seller before. I checked my log and it was not sent from my computer, so I have no idea where it originated. I don't have a Half.com account. This all happened on the Ebay side.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.
