Was wondering if anyone had acquired an inside scoop or further info as to whether or not the 20th would be a free listing day? Trying to plan a course of action and was wondering what everyone else was doing! Thanks!

No news yet, but i'm hopeful. Some have said that it wouldn't be the 20th because it's too close to the ANAHEIM event, but that starts on Friday.... So, I don't see why they wouldn't do it on Thursday.
Others have suggested the 27th; that would be OK too, but the auctions would all end after the 30th.

anyone else have thoughts?

Isn't the Anaheim Event a $45 entry ticket event? It may be a big bust.

Wouldn't it be nice to know a few days in advance?

It would be nice, but would probably cut into their profits if we knew too far ahead. (!!) Usually it's 24 hours notice. I've been thinking about doing up a few and saving them for launch until we know for sure. One of the things I really like about the AW Sales Manager.

You're Sooooooooo right! Usually I get up and the day is already half gone before I'm aware of the fact it's THE day! Trying to be ready this time!

I don't even think eBay gives a full 24 hour notice on the FLD. I wouldn't expect them too as it would cost them a lot of listings on the day before the FLD.
The eBay lister can be used for free with 100 auction batches and a 1,000 auction limit in a day.
List early as the eBay listing system should be broken in a few hours from the heavy load ( maybe that's part of the reason for the FLD .. to test the maximum listing capabilites at eBay ).

When we expect or anticipate an eBay FLD, I keep my browser home page set on the eBay Announcement page, so I can keep up with the latest announcements.

After giving it some thought, I am thinking it will be after the Anahiem event. Maybe midweek the following week. My guess is the 27th. The last FLD they gave about 30 hours notice, but I would not expect anything more than 24 hours this time.

Doubt the system is prepared to handle the load for tomorrow. Just noticed that when I type in title words in Basic search for a certain type listings, I get results but when I check the box below for description as well, all items listed from about 5pm June 18th disappear. Apparently the Search function - or shall I say "functionality"is woefully behind.

It seems to me, that eBay picks the days which seem to them, to be the most unproductive of the said month for the FLD. So, I'd say, the 27th, as that is going into a weekend and through to the 4th as which many may run together for extra vacation days away from home and the computer.

We have always done well on FLD, but the days themselves are usually not ideal by a long shot.

All this is to say, I vote for the 27th as the most likely.

Regarding the “ANAHEIM EVENT,” I am not sure who that “event” is for. I can see no reason to attend such, if one is an experienced eBayer. The only reason I can see to go, is for newbies, groupies, and those who just want to be able to says “they were there.” I'm not sure I'd go if it were occurring around the corner from me. I just can't see how "ANAHEIM" would add to my income, and to me THAT is the bottom line.

Question. If you list on FLD do you do 7 or 10 day auctions and why? Thanks

we always do 10 days; it's only an extra nickel per listing. If i do five hundred listings its $25., and my buyers have three extra days to purchase the item!

Looks like it won't be on the 20th? Do we think it'll happen on the 27th?

Who says there has to be a FLD ? The quarter will be over on June 30 so giving a FLD on the 27th will accomplish nothing for e-Bay. Besides, I thought they were trying to clear out a lot of "the clutter" not add to it.

Opps..I bet you meant to say it's an .10 for 10 day aucitons. In that case, 500 auctions would be an extra $50. Sometimes I put them on for 7 (obviously I don't do 500 of them) and if they don't sell, then on day 4 or 5, I revise for 10 days and then pay the extra dime!

I still think there's hope for tomorrow.

Why would they do it so close to the Anahiem event? Because all the power listers will be potentially unavailable. That's the eBay way!

I thought last year it was announced about 3 am PDT on June 20 that June 20th was a FLD. There was no warning and it was just there. It's a real shame the AW seach function of the message boards was eliminated.

Yes last year it was announced on June 20 but FLD was Thursday June 21. Also e-Bay closes down Fri early AM for regular maintainance so do not look for Fri as a FLD. Besides they gave 5 cent preview photos not too long ago as a listing incentive.
