I got some bids on my 78's but what is the best way to pack them for mailing? I saw a link to an article about that a week or so ago but now can't find it. I remember someone saying pizza boxes were good for mailing LPs. These I would think would be more fragile.

78s are hard to pack for shipping frist rule must be tightly packed no rattleing if you sell in batches each reacord must be individually wrapped double boxed best way to pack wrap each in tisue paper and kraft paper tape or band the bunch togeather put all into a 12" X 12" foam pouch these can be bought at staples or other office suply stores.
cut up a card board box shape just the size for the records bubble wrap this package and pack in a second box.
I have been shipping these types of records for years and I can tell you if you dont pack them like you would pack an egg to suvive a fall from a plane to the ground they will not survive the USPS.
my standard shipping rate for 12 78s is no less then $18.50 due to the weight of the record and the amount of packing required
OH and one last thing DONT not stamp or have the package mark DOnot drop or anything I have found that the marked packages are the ones that have some type of damage reported also heavy on the tape best to have your custom made package 100% covered with packing tape because of the weight.
