I'm still shaking my head.
A bidder, let's call her Agnes, won 5 of my auctions. A second bidder, let's call her Babs, won 1. Apparently Agnes and Babs know each other somehow, I know not how.
Agnes and/or Babs (it's still not clear which one) sends me a money order for ALL SIX AUCTIONS. I am supposed to magically divine that two bidders are using one money order to pay for six auctions.
Yeah, this happens every day, ladies.
One bidder sending items to multiple addresses (gifts) I can handle.
But of all the boneheaded maneuvers in order to save, what, 34 cents in postage and 85 cents on a money order fee....!
So Agnes has received her items and Babs is hopping mad that I screwed this up. "I told you about this in e-mail," she whines. Yeah, lady, I get over 500 emails a day. Like I'm gonna remember. Like I even care.
You know, I thought I had a brilliant idea one year around April 15. My boyfriend and I were both filing 1040EZs and I thought, gee, why not save a stamp and mail both returns in the same envelope? There's nothing in IRS pubs that tells you you can't do this.
You guessed it: my return got stapled to the back of his and thank all that's holy I was due a refund or I'd have had to pay a penalty.
There are certain assumptions that organizations make when processing their work. The IRS assumes an envelope contains one and one only return. I assume (and will continue to assume) that a payment is from one bidder and one bidder ONLY.
Please don't make me invent another rule to cover this situation.

I try to accomodate my buyers as much as possible. It's a pain to write two emails to straighten out the situation but they may become regular customers so it may be worth the effort. It a minimum, I always believe in the Golden Rule and try to place my self in the buyers spot.

It wasn't irony, that was the whole point.
Sorry you missed it.
While rules may not EXPLICITLY state that 2 women and their pet cat cannot go in together on a money order to pay for auctions won by multiple userids, common sense should tell you this is likely to confuse people.
Just as it should have told me the return processors would expect 1 return per envelope.

Wow, and I thought I was the one with
problems, like a bidder who BINed 9 of
my items at $20 each ($180 total) and
won't send payment. If I only had
problems like yours (ie, people sending
payments). Good luck!
