I've been browsing the "Featured Auctions" on eBay and was struck by the number of auctions advertising some kind of CD-R which contains information on setting up acquiring import/export items (computers, c-phones, etc) from Asia, repo's, etc. and I have to admit that some of the sellers sound like they have the "real deal"--some actual information to start selling on eBay full-time. It's an idea that I've been thinking about, but I don't manufacture anything to sell. I look for deals and then re-sell on eBay; sometimes I do well, sometimes I don't but it helps our family with some extra spending money during the month. But is there anything legitimate on these discs people are selling? Or is it all snake oil?

I'd be skeptical about the info on the discs... after all, if it's so great, why aren't the sellers using it themselves and making tons of $$?

Most of those infomational CDs contain stuff that is already on the web. Like every infomercial on TV, they make everything seem like the deal of the century.
